First appearing on the Flushing Line in 1948, the R-12s contained overhead ceiling fans, overhead florescent lighting and featured quicker acceleration and more efficient braking systems for smoother more reliable performance. The external appearance was distinguished with front and side roll-sign windows for route identification. The R-12 represents the seventh subway car design to debut in our RailKing lineup.
