The Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 was one of the most numerous versions of this famous German WWII fighter aircraft. Known to its pilots as the "Gustav", it eventually served in all theatres where the Luftwaffe was active. The aircraft were also used to defend Germany against the American daylight bombing raids. The Bf109G-6 was also used extensively on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Air Force.
